Hidemynet, BoxPN, StrongVPN, VPNgates, SuperVPN, Blacklogic, MonkeyVPN, UnblockVPN, WorldVPN, BlackVPN, iPredator.

1. What is your companies name and where are you located? We are ExpressVPN and we are a US based company.

2. How long is your company in the air? We have been in the business since 2009.

3. What is the basic reason for serving VPN services to customers? To be able to access sites that are only accessible in particular countries.

4. What about privacy related information…are they safe under your care? We have the credit card information of our customers. Even us, customer reps aren’t able to access all our customers’ information.

5. What is the procedure for releasing information about customers to authorities? We escalate such issues to our management.

6. When will you release information to the authorities? Our management will decide on the proper action to take.

7. Do you work on prepaid basis and do you keep logs when it is a prepaid service? We have a certain amount to logs however these information are only accessible to our management.

8. Do you have an affiliate program? Yes.

9. Do you have something to say to possible new customers? If you encounter any problems or inquiries, please don’t hesitate to contact us through email or chat.

PG rating 5/10

1. What is your companies name and where are you located? http://www.purevpn.com/about.php

2. How long is your company in the air? http://www.purevpn.com/about.php

3. What is the basic reason for serving VPN services to customers? To provide Ambiguity, anonymity and security

4. What about privacy related information…are they safe under your care? http://www.purevpn.com/privacy-policy.php

5. What is the procedure for releasing information about customers to authorities? Which type of authorities?

6. When will you release information to the authorities? Which type of authorities?

7. Do you work on prepaid basis and do you keep logs when it is a prepaid service? We do not keep logs. http://www.purevpn.com/order/index.php
8. Do you have something to say to possible new customers? It depends on customer questions

PG rating 6/10

1. What is your companies name and where are you located?
We have recently moved operations offshore to Hong Kong, and the service is now provided by BlackVPN Limited registered in Hong Kong. We feel that Hong Kong will not bow to US demands in regards to copyright issues or demands to hand over customer records. We were previously registered in Amsterdam, The Netherlands.

2. How long is your company in the air?
Since December 2009.

3. What is the basic reason for serving VPN services to customers?
Protection of our fundamental human rights such as freedom-of-speech and right to privacy, regardless of where you live on planet earth. We feel that governments around the world are violating the Universal Declaration of Human Rights to enforce censorship & monitoring under the guise of copyright enforcement or filtering harmful material. These ideals have been highlighted on our site since the beginning: https://www.blackvpn.com/your-rights/

4. What about privacy related information…are they safe under your care?
The less we know about our customers and their activities the better – since then we can never be forced to hand this data over. We do not keep any logs about our users internet activities including which sites they access or what data they transfer. We also run log cleaners on our systems which removes the IPs from logs before they are written to disk.

Then we have some different policies on our different servers:On our Privacy Servers (Netherlands, Lithuania, Ukraine & Russia) we don’t log anything that can identify the user, but on our Singapore, US & UK servers where we don’t allow sharing copyrighted materials we do log the internal RFC1918 IP that is assigned to the user at a specific time. So to clarify, we don’t log the real external ip of the user, just our RFC1918 internal one, this we have to do to comply with local laws and to be able to handle DMCAs.

5. What is the procedure for releasing information about customers to authorities?
This is a rare event which will be assessed on a case-by-case basis. All three founders of BlackVPN will review the request and we will decide together if we are going to comply with the authorities.

6. When will you release information to the authorities?
When we feel a crime has been committed and only when forced to by law enforcement personnel that have produced a court order, then we will not stand in the way of the proper legal process for dealing with such crimes. For example if someone has used a stolen credit card to purchase a blackVPN account and other illegal purchases then blackVPN is not here to protect you when committing such crimes. We have NEVER handed over any customer data after accusations of copyright infringement or freedom of speech issues.

7. Do you work on prepaid basis and do you keep logs when it is a prepaid service?
All accounts are pre-paid. See answer #4.

8. Do you have something to say to possible new customers?
BlackVPN.com was born in 2009 by 3 friends holding conference calls via the interwebs. None of the existing VPN providers were offering the quality of service we wanted for a reasonable price so we tried ourselves.

PG rating 8/10

1. What is your companies name and where are you located?
Company name: Blacklogic Inc.
Headoffice location: Toronto, Canada

2. How long is your company in the air?
From 2007

3. What is the basic reason for serving VPN services to customers?
We are worried about Internet censorship and support the idea of Net Neutrality, therefore we’ve started providing VPN services to people where Internet is censored.

4. What about privacy related information…are they safe under your care?
Yes. We have very strict privacy policies and don’t disclose any personal information to a third party.

5. What is the procedure for releasing information about customers to authorities?
We don’t accept suspicious customers (especially from Nigeria, Ghana and other fraud countries). Therefore our clients are all legitimate and honest people. We haven’t received any request from any authorities for the past 5 years.

6. When will you release information to the authorities?
Please see the previous answer.

7. Do you work on prepaid basis and do you keep logs when it is a prepaid service?
Only prepaid. No trial to anyone for the reasons of security.

8. Do you have something to say to possible new customers?
Don’t fall into cheap prices and don’t buy from newborn Chinese vpn providers. Most of them don’t answer any emails, they don’t speak English and they will probably run away with your money.
Buy from a company which is on the market for at least couple years like we are 🙂
